Answers to frequently asked questions about our home

Do you have to rent for a full week? – No What does a rental cost? We rent our home out several ways:

In season Memorial Day through Labor Day: We accept only 1 or more week rentals. Rentals begin 4:00 PM on Friday & end the following Friday at 9:00 AM. Memorial Day, 4th of July & Labor Day weeks are $4,350 each week.

Regular in-season weeks - $ 4,050

Cleaning is done before each rental between 9:00 AM & 4:00 pm on Friday. Our cleaning crew inspects, vacuums & gets the house ready for each group. We expect to find our home in good condition upon your departure. We leave Tupperware & all sorts of serving bowls, containers, pitchers, plates, silverware, cooking utensils, blenders, pots, & pans for your use. Please make sure they are clean when you leave. Please do not leave open food containers in our home. Weekend cleaning is awful; this is why our rentals always start Friday at 4:00 PM.

Out of season we have three rental structures.

Is the house near water?

Yes – we’re on Santuit Pond (188 acre fresh water lake) we’re about 5 miles to South Cape Beach (ocean) – We do not provide a beach pass, you must go to Mashpee Town Hall to get a beach pass, we believe it is $50 or so per car, per week (but check with them).

Yes - both from our 14 x 16 floating dock. We have 22 ski / life jackets – infant to XL sizes.

What about watercraft?

How do we get to your home?

If your flying, we suggest TF Green Airport in Rhode Island, it’s about 10 –12 miles longer then flying into Boston’s Logan Airport but without the hassles of Boston traffic. We will send you complete driving and flying instructions along with your executed lease.

How do I get a key?

We send it to you the week before your rental begins. You leave it in a drawer in our home at the end of the rental period – we will tell you where.

How far in advance do you accept reservations?

15 months in advance currently.

Do you accept credit cards or foreign currency?

No, but foreign payments can be made by bank wire.

Why do you rent this home out, it sounds unusual for a rental?

It is unusually stocked & maintained for a rental, we’ve owned this property for over 20 years, during this time systems were always breaking, we could never find the time to use this house often enough. Motors want to run in refrigerators, air conditioning, heating systems, water & septic systems, toilets, sinks, etc. If they systems don’t run often, they tend to break down. Since we’ve been renting out home out occasionally the repair nightmares have stopped. We will eventually retire to this home so please treat it well. Many of our guest return over the years so treat it well for them as well. Thanks.

If I have more questions, do you mind if I call?

Of course we don’t mind, in fact Suzanne & I encourage you to do so. Our home is large & filled with things for you to do. We know what’s there & where it is, you don’t, so calling is natural. However we have many photos inside closets & cabinets to show you where things are kept & where to return them after use. Vacations should be fun & relaxed.
